DIRA’s Automation Award 2023 – the result

It has been exciting to have this extra experience with our automation project 'Future Factory' and almost taste the flavour of victory. It could have been a great side benefit of the project itself.

"Even though we didn’t win we’re all very proud about the nomination and we have learned a lot by this process," said HMF's CEO Mikkel Winther Andersen immediately after the winner was announced. "Moreover, we’re already winners, because the project helps to future-proof HMF and thus preserve jobs in Denmark."

And we're not done yet. For now, we're looking forward to getting back on track, continuing our digital growth journey, which will help improve our customer experience. Once the temporary factory section at our integrator Migatronic Automation in Aabybro, Northern Jutland, is running with stable, data-driven production, it will be implemented in our current production at the beginning of next year - and in the longer term in a new factory.

"I’m convinced that this unique project form will be an inspiration for manufacturing companies similar to HMF." says project manager Christian Myrhøj the next day.

Thank you to all employees who have provided even the slightest help during the nomination process. No one mentioned, no one forgotten.

We look forward to the continued co-operation – because: together we are stronger!
